Being new in the Miniature Horse world, Louellen has spent time through emails and on the phone with me helping me to customize the fit with my horse blankets right down to neck sweats, etc.
When it came to ordering Show Halters for my horses, she knew exactly the fit and the design that would complement both my boys. When ordering online it’s very frustrating when you cannot see the product in person. Pictures don’t do justice. My show halters were amazing when they arrived.

I am so in love with my Carriage House Show Deluxe harness!! Comparing a Carriage House harness to any other harness in the industry would be like comparing a Ferrari to a Civic… Nothing even comes close in quality and comfort. The considerations for comfort and aesthetic are absolutely next level. Consider this: imagine wearing a backpack that pinched, pulled, and put pressure on your back. How do you expect to perform to your highest potential? I have peace of mind with my show deluxe harness knowing that my horses comfort came first and foremost in the design of the harness. Every detail like the gorgeous cushioned saddle, plush crupper, leather tear drop on saddle and caveson (to protect your horses sensitive tooth bumps from the buckle) were made with my horses comfort in mind. I submitted my measurements to Louellen and the harness was custom made to be a perfect fit.
The visual appeal and functional aesthetic of these fine harnesses cannot be touched or imitated. You will love the rich rolled leather two tone reins and traces. The beautiful traditional gold piping sets off the solid brass roller buckles. I love the ease of use with my beautiful French tugs as well. The simplest additions of a sleek button snap corded side check really compliments the look and feel of the design. And to polish it all off you can pick from a fleur de lis or heart embellishment for your blinders, martingale and check. I love my flashy martingale on all of my harnesses, I believe Louellen’s harnesses pay honourable tribute to tradition in the show ring. Don’t forget to pick up some Passier Lederbalsam from Louellen with your order — your harness will stand the test of time if you treat it well, I condition my harness after every use. Everyone agrees that the harness doesn’t make the horse, but my show deluxe harness positively pops on the rail. Once you go show deluxe you’ll never go back!
Louellen stands behind her product. Hold one of these harnesses in your hands or witness a horse coming down the rail in a show deluxe harness and you will agree that there simply is no comparison. It is not uncommon for a judge to tap me on the shoulder and compliment me on a beautiful turnout. My husband and I are running two miniature horse studs being Kings Lane and Crystal Creek approximately one and a half hours north of Brisbane in Maleny, Queensland, Australia. We also have miniature horses in the US, some of which were shown at the 2014 AMHA World Show. I was lucky enough to be there and see them in person. One of our horses was shown in harness which led us to venture into harness training some of our horses here in Australia. I decided I wanted a nice harness but being relatively inexperienced in this field I was lucky enough to find Louellen Rempel who runs Carriage House Miniature Horse Tack & Harness. I found Louellen more than helpful in discussing my needs and advising me on the different components of my requirements. Subsequently I purchased two harnesses for my miniatures, an “A” size and a “B” size and harness bags for each. Louellen’s communications were second to none frequently advising me of the stage my purchases were at while in transit. My parcel arrived very promptly and upon opening it I was more than happy with the quality and the workmanship of the leather work on the harnesses. I purchased a Gorgeous Harness Bag for my sweet “Hallie.” It’s her favorite color! Mine too! Love it! It is a harness bag designed like no other. It has lots of straps/a cover for the bridle. It’s quilted and lots of pockets and ventilation. I love it because it is so compact, but yet holds everything. Love the horse emblems on each side too! AMAZING GRACE HALLIE LU YA is a 2009 AMHA/AMHR 29.5″ silver pinto mare and she definitely “is all that” in a nicely put together tiny package. Successfully shown in halter at AMHR shows beginning as a yearling, Hallie held her own against taller miniatures. She was a Top 10 in Youth Halter and PMC Youth Halter at the 2010 AMHR Nationals, and Top 10 in Youth and Youth PMC Halter and Western Country Pleasure Driving at the 2012 AMHR Nationals. She was an All Star in Youth and Open Halter for both of those years, too!

Quality and beauty on a budget. After searching for a show harness I came to the conclusion that those options may not exist. It can be a frustrating search when you are new to the hobby and can't afford to spend the amount that the average show harness sells for. I shopped around and compared options, styles and of course prices. Then I came across Carriage House's Rolled Leather Show Harness. It was the simple elegance of the rolled pieces and fineness that sold me. Over the last few years I have purchased numerous things from clipper blades, number clips, grooming products and blankets, They are very accommodating with wonderful service and prompt delivery, Louellen goes out of way to please all her customers no matter how big or small the task is. Last year I talked to Louellen and told her that I had a refined colt that I wanted to break to drive and I wanted a very elegant harness to match his refinement and she sent me pictures of the super deluxe show harness, I bought it on the spot. When it was delivered I just about died, the leather was so soft and supple, I have never felt anything like it before, and I think I mauled it for over an hour.
